Church Ministries

We are happy to introduce to you, the pastors of The Carpenters House Church.  Each of whom have unique, God given gifts and talents to share with you.

James F. Disbrow, Senior Pastor and General Overseer of all departments and ministries                                                         Pastor Cathy Disbrow, Associate Pastor of Children's Ministries and Business Operations

James F. Disbrow, or Pastor Jim as he prefers to be called attended Sunday School as a lad and served as an altar boy. He was called by God to the ministry shortly after his salvation in 1974 and he has been a pastor for over 25 years. Pastor Jim also has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry as a "fire adjuster". The insurance claims experience gave him the ability to interpret insurance policies and apply coverage. After being baptized in Jesus’ name and receiving the Holy Spirit God gave Pastor Jim a burning desire to “rightly divide” the word of truth found in the holy scriptures. His experience in reading and understanding insurance contracts and the guidance of the Holy Spirit have helped him in his efforts to carve out that which is biblical certainty. Pastor Jim has studied the word of God with much passion for over 30 years and desires to bring his discoveries to the reader. Jim and his wife Cathy have 4 children who have grown up in the church and in their communities with much favor. Their children contribute to society as an architect, an attorney, a minister of music/teacher and as a chemist. The success of their children are a reflection of the social, moral and biblical teachings that they received at home from Pastors Jim and Cathy Disbrow. Jim continues to study and learn in God's "Holy Spirit College of Excellence" where the disciples of Jesus learned about God's word.

Eugene L. Jackson, Assoc. Pastor of Praise & Worship, Music, Drama & Dance

A native of Detroit, MI, Eugene attended Detroit public schools, graduating from Cass Technical High School.  He studied piano starting at the age of 5.  As a Music Education major at Wayne State University, Eugene majored in percussion and voice, performing with the Men’s Glee Club, percussion ensemble, band, and orchestra.  He sang first tenor with the Ted Thomas Ensemble, a contemporary Gospel Quartet, which was formed during his days with the Men’s Glee Club, touring Europe with them in the summer of 1971.

In addition to the Ted Thomas Ensemble, over the years Eugene has performed locally with small and large musical groups, including, the Michigan Concert Choir, a number of church choirs, Voice For Christ with whom he recorded a musical project in the 1990s, and Sound Virtue.

Prior to his current position, Eugene has directed several church choirs, and served as minister of music for the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church of Detroit, MI., First Open Bible of Pontiac, MI., and Christian Fellowship Church of Holly, MI.

As a songwriter, arranger and producer, Eugene lives in Waterford, MI. with his wife Yvonne of 40 years, having raised four children together.  Being also a minister of the Gospel, Eugene knows he has a call on his life to share the Gospel in both word and song.

Feel free to come by anytime, we would love to meet you!
